Police have arrested P.N. (47), registered as a resident of the territory of the municipality of Veliko Gradište, on suspicion of having seriously threatened to physically attack Jelena Obućina, author of the Dnevnik news bulletin of television channel TV Nova S.
The suspect has been charged with the criminal offence of endangering this journalists’ personal safety, which can be punished by a prison sentence of up to five years.
Obućina received bloodcurdling threats via social media following the publishing of articles in tabloid newspapers Alo and Informer that twisted and took out of context the words of her editorial introduction from 29th November. She was informed via social media that she would be “impaled” and “set on fire”.
