Hooligans destroy comics exhibition

October 15, 2020

A group of 15 masked youngsters broke into a comic book exhibition in Belgrade, released tear gas and ripped down all the exhibited works. One of the authors featured in the exhibition, Marko Somborac, a regular contributor to daily newspaper Blic and the Cenzolovka portal, said that the authors had reported threats issued via social networks to the police a day prior to the attack, but that the attack happened nonetheless. A police station is actually located very close to the exhibition venue.

Negative reactions and subsequent threats on social networks followed the publishing of individual exhibited comic strips that fall under the category of black humour, which led to the  authors being labelled Satanists and sick people.
