The drafting of the media strategy has not been returned to the start, rather work on it was halted in an attempt to ensure the inclusion all relevant media scene actors in the drafting of the strategy, announced Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljević, adding that he did not feel accountable for the fact that this document has yet to be adopted.
Serbian Culture and Information Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic said that it is an inaccurate and poor assessment that Serbia is regressing on the list of media freedoms.
I don’t consider such an assessment as being earned. Serbia, in our belief, is not in a phase of declining or stagnating media freedom … We have a formal and practical framework, said Vukosavljevic, referring to the annual report of Reporters Without Borders on the state of media freedom in Serbia, according to which Serbia fell by 10 places compared to 2017.
This report was also previously commented on negatively by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who said that the rating and report of the RBG indicates that it is a political campaign.
