Conveying such experiences was precisely the purpose behind a study visit of local media representatives from Serbia to Denmark, organized in April by the Slavko \u0106uruvija Foundation, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark.<\/p>\n<p>The visit was organized as part of the project \u201cImproving Media Freedoms in Serbia\u201d, which has also included the goals of development of economic sustainability and local media in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018Jyllands-Posten\u2019, founded as a regional media, only to develop to a nationally relevant newspaper throughout its long history, has digitalized its entire archives and is able to demonstrate its commitment to each advertiser. That leaves a powerful impression on their partners,\u201d explains Miroslav Dragin, the Technical Editor of \u201cKikindske\u201d and one of the participants in the visit.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from Dragin, Vitomir Ognjanovi\u0107, co-founder and Managing Director of the online portal \u201cJu\u017ene vesti\u201d, and Dejan Miladinovi\u0107, the owner and Editor of Kru\u0161evac\u2019s weekly \u201cGrad\u201d, were in a six day visit to Denmark. In the city of Arhus, the home of \u201cJyllands-Posten\u201d, and Copenhagen, where they were hosted by the desk of another great Danish daily paper \u201cPolitiken\u201d, they had a chance to get acquainted with business models of these media and the development of their digital platforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are not experiences that could be literally applied in Serbia, having in mind that Denmark is a highly developed country. However, this was also a chance to see how newspapers are organized in Denmark and how they have dealt with the global trend of reduction of printed circulation and the challenges in designing digital editions. This was very beneficial since these are universal problems we are dealing with even at small desks such as at \u201cKikindske\u201d.
