On the fifteenth commemoration of the journalist Slavko \u0106uruvija\u2019s murder, the owner of the \u2018Dnevni Telegraf\u2019 and the \u2018Evropljanin\u2019 magazine, and advocate for media freedom, the Slavko \u0106uruvija Foundation, reminded the public that freedom of expression and the safety of journalists is still in danger.<\/p>\n

Although the alleged perpetrators of the murder were recently apprehended, there is still no answer to the question – who ordered the execution?<\/p>\n

The issue of the moral responsibility of those who participated in the government at the time of the murder has still not been raised.<\/p>\n

The executions of the \u2018Duga\u2019 magazine journalist, Dada Vujasinovi\u0107, and the reporter for \u2018Ve\u010dernje Novosti\u2019 Milan Panti\u0107, are yet to be resolved.<\/p>\n

The values Slavko \u0106uruvija fought for, such as freedom of speech and the right of editors to publish the content in their newspapers with no outside interference, according to the standards of the profession and in line with the law, have not yet been achieved.<\/p>\n

The Slavko \u0106uruvija Foundation believes that the government must take decisive action in order to secure media freedom and create an atmosphere in which journalists can do their jobs according to the highest professional standards.<\/p>\n
