{"id":2345,"date":"2017-06-09T17:26:58","date_gmt":"2017-06-09T15:26:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.slavkocuruvijafondacija.rs\/?p=2345"},"modified":"2017-06-09T17:26:58","modified_gmt":"2017-06-09T15:26:58","slug":"light-shed-on-murder-of-journalist-milan-pantic-suspects-from-belgrade-and-jagodina","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.slavkocuruvijafondacija.rs\/en\/light-shed-on-murder-of-journalist-milan-pantic-suspects-from-belgrade-and-jagodina\/","title":{"rendered":"Light shed on murder of journalist Milan Panti\u0107, suspects from Belgrade and Jagodina"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>June 9, 2017<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Sixteen years after the murder of Ve\u010dernje Novosti\u2019s Jagodina correspondent, Milan Panti\u0107, the police investigation has finally been completed, with the names of the suspected masterminds and perpetrators, who are \u201cfrom the territory of Belgrade and Jagodina\u201d, submitted to the office of the prosecutor, says Veran Mati\u0107, President of the Commission for Investigating Murders of Journalists, speaking to Cenzolovka.<\/h2>\n<p><em>Source: Cenzolovka<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mati\u0107 said in an interview, which Cenzolovka will publish tomorrow, that the investigation showed that evidence had been collected for the contractors, that light had been shed on their motives, and that Panti\u0107 was killed directly as a result of his work as a journalist and his investigative articles on corruption and crime in Jagodina and that part of Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>The detailed report, said Mati\u0107, was submitted ten days ago by police to the competent prosecutor in Jagodina, which is now expected to \u201cas soon as possible, make some appropriate decisions and take action in accordance with its legal jurisdiction\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, to ultimately launch a prosecution investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPanti\u0107\u2019s assassination is directly linked to his journalistic work in 1999, 2000, all the way until 11<sup>th<\/sup> June 2001. The murder was linked to his professional engagement, choice of topics, investigative journalism, which he dealt with in his hometown. At the beginning of the work of the Commission the articles of Milan Panti\u0107 were collected and systematised for the first time, then analysed in order to define possible motives and clues. Analysis of his work helped to more clearly define the motives.
